Rebecca Ann Lind Named 2026 BEA Distinguished Education Service Award Recipient
Introduction
Rebecca Ann Lind, Associate Professor Emerita at the University of Illinois at Chicago, has been named the 2026 recipient of the Broadcast Education Association Distinguished Education Service Award.
The award recognizes individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to electronic media education. A former broadcaster, Dr. Lind has built a distinguished career in teaching, research, and academic leadership. Her work has focused on media ethics, race and gender in media, audience studies, and new media. She has also played an important leadership role within BEA, serving as Chair of the Gender and Sexuality Division, member of the Board of Directors, Convention Chair, and Research Symposium Chair.
She will receive the award during the BEA 2026 annual convention awards ceremony on Friday, April 17, in Las Vegas.
