About

Allison Garetto is a doctoral student in the Department of Communication, entering the program in 2023. Before starting at the University of Illinois at Chicago, she received her B.A. in Communication, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Allison then completed her M.A. at Saint Louis University, where she researched health information seeking, risk perception, and behaviors among young adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. Allison research interests include health communication and technology.

Allison served as a research assistant at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and taught Public Speaking at Saint Louis University. She currently teaches Fundamentals of Communication at UIC.
