Brian Chan is a graduate student and teaching assistant in the Department of Communication at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication with Honors from the University of Washington in 2018. His undergraduate thesis sought to understand internet celebrity's credibility in the political context. His current research interests include new media, internet celebrity, popular culture, and marginalization on social media. One of his ongoing projects considers the overarching appeal of internet celebrities as ordinary people doing ordinary things.
