Jeehyun Jenny Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication. Her research investigates the sociocultural and ethical implications of new media technologies and cultures, with a focus on algorithmic social media culture, AI, and creator culture. In particular, she focuses on the sociotechnical imaginaries, norms, and practices surrounding new media technologies and how they relate to power dynamics and inequities while also enabling new forms of identity expression, representation, and agency. Her work can be found in journals such as Social Media + Society, Information, Communication & Society, International Journal of Communication, Communication, Culture & Critique, Feminist Media Studies, and Surveillance & Society.
