Evie is a PhD Candidate. Using a feminist media perspective, her research speaks to the emerging and far-reaching socio-cultural shifts informed by new media technologies. She has expertise in critical/cultural studies with a particular interest in researching reality television, social media, self-branding and digital labor practices, celebrity culture, and fandom. She utilizes participatory approaches to research like digital ethnography and in-depth interviewing, along with critical discourse, framing, content, and visual analysis. Evie also teaches a range of introductory communication courses at UIC.
