About
Rachel Kinnard is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Communication. She got her MA in Media Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. There, her research focused on feminist journalists and their work for mainstream media outlets. Her research interests include political communication, the news production process, and gender representation in journalism. She is also interested in the ways in which social media has changed and/or shaped the way journalists perform their jobs and enact their identities as journalists. Rachel works as the Editorial Assistant for the journal Social Media and Society for which Dr. Papacharissi is the editor.
