Hibby Thach is a graduate student and teaching assistant in the Department of Communication at the University of Illinois at Chicago. They received their Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with Honors from Temple University in 2020 and were the 2020 recipient of the Benjamin and Irma Robboy Award in Sociology. Their undergraduate work analyzed transgender representation in video games using the LGBTQ Game Archive. Their current research interests include queerness/transness in new media, Asian and multiracial representation, and online communities.
