Kendall Tyson is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Communication at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She earned a dual MSc in Global Media and Communication from the London School of Economics and Political Science and Fudan University School of Journalism. She completed two master’s theses, focusing on environmental communication. Her first dissertation explored air pollution news coverage in Chinese state-funded and alternative media. Her second dissertation explored the role of marketing and knowledge brokering in environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility agencies in a Chinese context. Past research projects also include waste management, health systems, and pharmaceutical pollution. She is excited to continue expanding upon her past research, finding new areas of interest, and continuing to write, research and teach.
