Selena Cotte is a first-generation PhD student studying new media and interpersonal communication. Her research interests include but are not limited to: Effects of computer-mediated communication, internet-based relationships, platform studies, participatory and pop culture, meme studies, and social media uses. Beyond academia, she is also a poet and journalist, with her writing published all over the net and sometimes even in print.
