Lisabeth Matyash is a Ph.D. student who came to the program in 2017. Originally from New Jersey, she has an M.A. in Communication & Information Studies (2016) as well as a joint-B.A. in Communication & Information Studies and American Studies (2013) from Rutgers University. Her research interests include micro-celebrity and celebrity culture, online self-presentation, and the commodification of users. She currently teaches Fundamentals of Human Communication and upon completion of her program, Lisabeth hopes to continue teaching and researching her various interests.
