Gabrielle Roitman is a graduate student and teaching assistant in the Department of Communication at UIC. She graduated from Cornell University in 2021 after completing an honors thesis on children’s understandings of gender representations in Disney Princess animated films. Since graduating, Gabrielle has worked in public facing roles at museums and performance arts institutions in Los Angeles, New York City, and Chicago. She is currently interested in issues of gender, identity development, media consumption and creation, and power structures.
