Congratulations to all of our doctoral students, whose papers and panels were accepted at the Association of Internet Researchers annual conference, to take place in Denver, Colorado, in October 2013:

Jason Archer: Paper, "Technologizing Touch: Tactile Magic, Education, and Domestication in Apple iPad Advertisements."

Stacy Blasiola: Panel, "Who's running the show? Negotiating control for community participation and features Twitter and TV research," featuring work from Miao Feng and Jun Liu (Lund University, Sweden), Melinda Sour (Drexel) and Rachel Magee (Drexel), James Carivou (Iowa) and Blasiola.


Federica Fornaciari: Paper,  "Amazon is my angout! Self-disclosure and community building in Amazon’s reviews."

Andrea Guzman: Paper, "Making Machines Safe for Humans: The Case of Siri."

Catherine Knight Steele: Paper, "Shaking off the Other: Appropriation of marginalized cultures and the 'Harlem Shake.'"

Jenny Korn: Fishbowl, "Research Directions From What We Know To What We Seek To Know: An Open Fishbowl About Identity and the Internet." The fishbowl also includes doctoral candidate Catherine Kinght Steele.
